DescriptionThe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Burger King Corporation, focuses its grantmaking on organizations that alleviate hunger, prevent disease, and support youth programs. It also supports the Burger King Scholars Program, and on a limited basis, the efforts of nonprofits that seek to improve scholastic opportunities. Alleviating Hunger grants emphasize finding solutions in the fight against global hunger. Preventing Disease grants support U.S. efforts to prevent and control chronic disease. In the Youth Programs category, the focus is on organizations that work to better the lives of children and youth. The Foundation does not eliminate any of the existing charitable activities among the restaurants or within the Company. The Foundation is designed to engender greater support by leveraging the power of the Company’s brand to gather and distribute funds worldwide. Requests are reviewed three times a year.
