Lawson Valentine Foundation
Category: Environment
DescriptionThe Foundation focuses its grantmaking on environmental issues and racism. It supports programs and projects dealing with environmental justice since many studies show that communities of color are far more likely than white ones to have toxic sites in them. The Foundation believes that the right to a clean environment and to freedom from discrimination converge with this issue. Grants also support human rights, health, and food systems. The Foundation provides challenge grants, grants for general operating support, program, and project grants. It supports capacity building and technical assistance, monitoring of human rights, reporting of human rights violations, and seminars, conferences, and meetings. A letter of inquiry is requested.
