Category: Social Change
DescriptionThe Foundation supports efforts that strengthen the ability of communities to determine their own economic, environmental, and social well being, and that help people control those forces that affect their lives. The Foundation’s economic justice grants provide funding to social change organizations throughout the United States that promote economic development through community organizing. Priority is given to projects that arise from the hopes and efforts of those whose survival, well being, and liberation is directly at stake. Preference is given to organizations with annual budgets of under $1 million. Prospective grantees should initiate the application process by sending a short, two- or three-page letter of inquiry to the program director by the March deadline. Proposals are by invitation only. The Foundation accepts letters of inquiry by fax, email, or regular mail. Please only use one method and do not send duplicate copies. Additional information is available on the Web site.
