DescriptionThe CEO and chairman of Koch Industries, a diverse group of companies that feature brands such as Dixie cups and Spandex Lycra, established his foundation to support libertarian causes including the Cato Institute. The Foundation’s mission is to advance social progress and well being through the development, application, and dissemination of the Science of Liberty. The Foundation supports academic and public policy research and social welfare that’s conservative in nature. Of particular interest are research and education programs that analyze the impact of free societies, in particular how they advance the well being of mankind. The Foundation also fosters the partnership of scientists and practitioners to integrate theory and practice with the goal of developing market-based tools that enable individuals, institutions, and societies to survive and prosper.
