DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of talk show hostess, Jenny Jones. The Jenny’s Heroes program awards grants to individuals who submit the best ideas for tangible, lasting community projects. Through the 50 grant recipients selected so far, funds have been used to provide items and services such as library books, school computers, firefighting gear, nursing home upgrades, free dental services, and a running track at a women’s prison. The program’s priority is smaller communities where fund-raising can be difficult. The project must benefit a number of people, not just one individual and all funds must be spent on the approved community project. The total cost of the project cannot exceed $25,000.
