Ralph M. Parsons Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation’s grantmaking focuses on several areas including higher education, social impact, civic and cultural, health, and special projects. Grants to higher education institutions are awarded to those with a strong emphasis on the fields of engineering, technology, and the sciences. Social impact grants focus on assistance to socially or economically disadvantaged groups, including women and children, families, youth, and the elderly. Civic and cultural grants enhance cultural life by providing opportunities to cultural experiences where few or none existed. Health grants target services to the disadvantaged, elderly, families, AIDS victims, and youth by supporting programs and medical equipment associated with these services. Special project grants respond to emerging societal needs or projects that fall outside the Foundation’s established areas of interest. The first step in the process is a letter of inquiry. The Board considers proposals five times a year. Organizations in Los Angeles County are eligible to apply for grants. Higher education applicants are not limited to this geographic area. The Foundation does not accept inquiries via fax or e-mail. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
