DescriptionThe Trust was created in 1989 by a French-American family to address fundamental inequalities and injustices in our society. The Trust’s mission is to help develop and sustain networks of community-based groups in the United States and France that educate, organize, and empower people to actively participate in developing public policies that directly affect their lives. The Trust believes that everyone is entitled to fair and just treatment, basic living standards, equality of opportunity, and a voice in the decisions that affect them and their communities. The Trust also believes that individuals and institutions should be accountable for their actions. The Trust’s grantmaking falls under the following categories: social, economic, and environmental justice. The Trust supports organizations in California, the southern United States, and France. Letters of inquiry are requested; proposals are by invitation only. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
