Description

The Foundation recognizes the power of human rights to express our values and transform societies. Its grantmaking is focused on enhancing the human rights movement and broadening it to include U.S. social justice work in the areas of peace and justice, environmental sustainability, and women’s rights. The Foundation is interested in supporting innovative and effective work that emphasizes strategies that incorporate the interconnections between issues and lead to real social change. While the Foundation concentrates its grantmaking in California and Illinois, it does fund organizations working nationally. Of particular interest are organizations engaged in social change and strategic analysis and action. Letters of inquiry are accepted on a rolling basis. Additional information is available on the Web site.
