Funding is focused on four main components: safeguarding habitat; growing the movement; creating solutions for sustainable living; and healthy planet/healthy communities. Grants are awarded in the following program areas: energy, air quality and transportation; habitat; water/toxics; and population. Funding preference is given to organizations in Alaska, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, and South Caroline. The Foundation also gives priority to organizations in Argentina, Mexico, and Russia. Programs that are national in scope are funded without geographic restrictions.
