Description

The Foundation’s four funding priorities are palliative care, bioethics, medical research, and education. Education grants are targeted at literacy enrichment programs for New York City public school children that focus on art education and professional development for teachers in collaboration with Columbia University Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. Selection criteria include evidence of strong and visionary leadership, the development of new initiatives that are replicable and sustainable, and the creation of new ways to address existing critical issues. Other criteria include an interest in building connections and creative partnerships, the desire to improve and enrich the lives of individuals, and original, unusual, dynamic, and focused proposals. The Foundation reviews proposals three times during the year. Deadlines are March 15, July 15, and November 15.
