DescriptionThe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American Psychiatric Association, works to advance public awareness of mental illness and its effective treatments. The Foundation is committed to promoting early recognition and treatment of mental illness and over the next three years, it will fund educational, informational, and outreach initiatives. Of particular interest are new and innovative ideas and programs that will not only promote awareness and treatment, but also highlight the importance of early intervention, access to care, and the need for high-quality services and treatment. Funding is available for new programs and the expansion of existing programs.
