National Historical Publications And Records Commission
Category: Computers & Technology
DescriptionThe Commission’s Detailed Processing Project seeks to promote the preservation and use of America’s documentary heritage essential to the understanding of our democracy, history, and culture. Project grants fund detailed processing and preservation of collections of national significance. The collections should have a high research demand or substantial preservation challenges. Applicants must have virtually all of their collections processed sufficiently so that researchers can find them. They must also have put into place procedures that prevent the creation of new backlogs that delay access to their holdings. Archives and other repositories of historical documents that are part of nonprofits, academic institutions, state or local government agencies, or federally acknowledged or state recognized Native American tribes or groups are eligible to apply.
