Description

The Foundation, one of a group of funds administered by Common Counsel, supports projects dedicated to building a sustainable future for the planet and to restoring a healthy global environment. The Foundation, named after the street where the founding family lived, is particularly interested in small and innovative community-based projects. Of particular interest are those that organize the community to preserve and restore habitats supporting biological diversity and wildlife and those that prevent or remedy toxic pollution. Also of interest are projects that advocate for environmental justice, particularly low-income and indigenous communities. Priority is given to organizations in the western and southern United States and Appalachia. A letter of inquiry form is available on the Web site.
