M*a*c Cosmetics Aids Fund

DescriptionThe Fund supports men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. It focuses its grantmaking on four crucial areas of need: the link between poverty and AIDS; models of care; treatment adherence; and prevention. Poverty grants fund basic needs such as food and housing to people living with AIDS. Models of care funds are earmarked for developing hospitals and for increasing the number of doctors and nurses in countries that need it the most. Treatment adherence grants help develop peer-based programs that encourage people to adhere to their treatment regimes. Prevention grants focus on high-risk populations such as youth, people over 50, African Americans, and Caribbean and African women living in Western cities. The Fund provides four rounds of funding annually. The deadline is for the second round. Applications can be found on the Web site. The Fund requests that applicants mail two hard copies of the completed application.
