DescriptionBy supporting grassroots organizations and movements committed to sustainable and a just social and natural system, the Foundation promotes the view of the Earth as one community, an interconnected web of life in which human society is an integral part. Funding is earmarked for projects that protect the health and environment of communities, those that are threatened by toxics, ones that advance environmental justice and those that promote a sustainable agricultural and food system. Also of interest are those that ensure quality reproductive health care as a human right and those that foster an environmentally sustainable New York City. The Foundation encourages requests that address multiple priorities as well as those that bring together organizations and activists from diverse movements. Online letters of inquiry are accepted on the Foundation’s Web site.
