Description

The Utility's Charitable Giving Program supports programs at nonprofit organizations located in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia regions. Designed to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the communities it serves, the Utility awards grants in the following areas: Educational Activities for K-12 Youth, especially those with a focus on math, science, technology, and business skills as well as arts-related programs; the Environment, with a focus on programs that promote cleaner air and water and that protect and preserve the ecological system of the metropolitan region; and Healthy and Safe Communities, with a focus on health organizations that strive to improve the health and well-being of individuals within the community. Grants from the Utility are awarded for specific programs rather than for general funding. The Utility reviews all requests via an online submission process. Visit the Web site for additional information.
