Description

The Foundation focuses its grantmaking in three states, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma, where the founders lived, worked, and retired. The Foundation supports organizations serving low-income and vulnerable populations in three mission areas: basic and essential needs in children and youth; services that improve or enhance the quality of life for older adults; and services that improve or enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. Funded efforts include supplemental food, emergency, and transitional shelter and housing, medical and dental care, therapeutic services, transportation, day services for seniors and people with disabilities, respite care, and early childhood intervention and development. In New Mexico, the Foundation awards grants statewide with a preference for rural counties. In Texas, the Foundation also awards grants across the state except for the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas. In Oklahoma, the Foundation also awards grants statewide with a preference for rural organizations. The Foundation provides both general operating support and restricted funds for specific programs. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
