Description

Guided by the principles of Buddhism and the teachings of H.H. Living Buddha Lian Sheng, the Foundation strives to combine compassion with strategic grantmaking to advance and promote quality health and education for all. Grants are awarded in Health and Education Access, Immigrant Justice, Emergent Needs, Empowering Communities. The Foundation also awards the Lotus Scholarship. Grants are awarded to organizations in Washington State's King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, with the exception of national immigrant rights advocacy organizations and disaster relief projects. Preference is given to smaller, community-based organizations serving low-income immigrants and refugees. While the Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals, the Web site includes an inquiry form for organizations to introduce themselves. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
