Description

The Initiative is a Colorado-based private foundation dedicated to funding mission-driven initiatives that improve the lives of the older adult population and their caregivers. It was formed in 2016 through the sale of InnovAge, a nonprofit Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly provider to a private equity firm. The Initiative provides grants aimed at improving the quality of life for older adults and their caregivers, strengthening organizations serving older adults, supporting new and innovative approaches to aging, and reducing ageism. The Initiative has two funding opportunities: Sudden & Urgent Needs grants of up to $30,000 to address one-time, time-sensitive needs for small nonprofits and Flexible Support grants of up to $150,000 to assist Colorado organizations in making progress toward improving the lives of older adults while also helping to increase or sustain an organization's capacity to serve older adults. Entities located outside of Colorado may apply for the Initiative's Advancing Equity in Aging and Advancing Innovation in Aging funds; Flexible Support Funding and Sudden & Urgent Needs grants are for Colorado organizations only. Additional information including application instructions can be found on the Web site.
