Description

Part of the Oregon Community Foundation, the Fund enables Nike employees to work with the Foundation to award at least $550,000 each year to nonprofits and schools in the metropolitan Portland, OR region, the northern Willamette Valley, and southwest Washington State. The Fund's objective is to give youth positive experiences in sports and physical activity and advance healthier, supportive, and more inclusive communities. The Fund aims to help local organizations bring the benefit of sports to their communities, allowing kids to enjoy the benefits of quality play and active lives and creating stronger communities where sports and physical activity are highly valued parts of everyday life. Through the Fund, 75 percent of grant awards will support projects that promote sports or physical activity in the community, and 25 percent of the awards will support organizations and projects that address community challenges through innovative or proven, community-based solutions. Organizations must be serving at least one of the following 10 counties: Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, Yamhill, Columbia, Linn, Benton, Marion, and Polk counties in Oregon and Clark County in SW Washington State.
