Description

The Trust focuses its grantmaking on humane organizations based in the United States for projects designed to enhance the well-being of animals in Ohio and elsewhere in the Great Lakes region. Grants are awarded to humane societies, animal welfare or animal protection groups, nonprofit spay/neuter clinics, wildlife rehabilitation, and nature centers, sanctuaries, museums, zoos and aquariums, educational institutions or other state or community organizations dedicated to the well-being of animals. Eligible organizations are located in Ohio and portions of the other seven states located in the Great Lakes watershed (including Ill., Ind., Mich., Wis., Western Penn., Upstate NY, and Northeastern Minn.) Preference is given to metropolitan, multi-county, statewide, or regional organizations or those that involve collaboration among multiple agencies. Prior to beginning the application process, the Trust requests interested applicants submit a letter of inquiry. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
