The Foundation was founded by the entrepreneur who created Fisher Engineering, which became one of the leading U.S. manufacturers of snow and ice removal equipment. The Foundation, which provides grants to Maine-based nonprofit organizations, awards grants to programs and projects that offer creative solutions to community problems or take advantage of opportunities that will have a favorable impact on the quality of life for a number of people. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, arts and culture, children and youth, community development, education, environment, health, and social services.
