Description

The Foundation, formerly known as the Donner Foundation, was founded by steelmaker, William H. Donner. The Foundation's mission is to build leadership, provide services, and encourage systems and cultural change through the support of organizations in the fields of healthcare, human services, legal aid, and the arts. The Foundation invests in people and programs that protect, improve, and enrich the life experience of residents of Philadelphia and surrounding Pennsylvania counties, with a focus on the vulnerable and excluded. Grants are awarded in the following areas: Arts and Culture, Health Care, Human Services, Legal Aid, and Reentry, Recidivism, and Restorative Justice. Arts and Cultures grants support projects working to enrich the community and transform society. Health Care grants seek to improve the quality of life and access to care. Human Services grants seek to connect people in need with services to help. Legal Aid grants support increasing access to legal representation for those in need. Reentry, Recidivism, and Restorative Justice grants are awarded to programs and projects that imagine new outcomes for those impacted by the criminal justice system.
