DescriptionThe Foundation is a Catholic family foundation committed to honoring the founders' legacy of generosity to strengthen the community. The family-run philanthropic venture strives to strengthen communities in central and western Maryland while preserving the family's legacy of giving. Grants are awarded to nonprofits throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore in five program areas: arts and humanities, Catholic activities, education, health care, and human services. Arts and humanities grants support performing arts organizations, visual art and history museums, as well as instructional art programs. Catholic activities grants support churches, faith communities, religious orders, retreat houses, and spiritual centers. Education grants encompasses giving to Catholic schools, special needs schools, private colleges and universities, out-of-school time programs, and other education-related activities. Health care grants support programs that provide curative, preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative care, as well as patient support services. Human services grants touches on a variety of needs including helping to meet people's basic needs, housing and homelessness, workforce development, family and children's services.
