Description

Founded by the former owners of the Fannie Mae Candy Company, the Foundation invests in ideas and initiatives that improve the lives of individuals n the Chicago metro area. The Foundation has three focus areas: entrepreneurship, cancer care and health rehabilitation services, and developmental disability service organizations. Entrepreneurship grants seek to improve education for entrepreneurs in Chicago neighborhoods, advancing entrepreneurship. Cancer care grants support patient engagement, patient centered care and rehabilitation to lead to better outcomes. Grants to developmental disabilities service organizations seek to enable people with developmental disabilities to achieve a higher quality of life. Grants are awarded to programs that are practical, financially sustainable, and results oriented. Some additional information can be found on the Web site.
