Description

The Foundation supports nonprofit legal aid providers in order to increase Illinois residents' access to the legal system. Grants are awarded in five categories: legal information for the public; self-help legal assistance projects; mediation services; telephone advice and referral services; civil legal assistance. Applications may be made for funds in more than one category. Applying organizations must provide services to low-income people free of charge or on a sliding scale based on income. Guidelines and application information can be found on the Web site.
