The Assisi Foundation Of Memphis

Description

The Foundation was formed in 1994 from the sale of a Catholic hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Proceeds from the sale serve nonprofits that work to improve Memphis and the MidSouth. The Foundation works with nonprofits to address pressing challenges affecting the community while also searching for root causes with the goal of healthy, positive transformation. Grants are awarded in the following areas: health and human services, education and lifelong learning, social justice and ethics, cultural enrichment and the arts, and community enhancement and capacity building. Funded organizations must be located in the following areas: Shelby, Fayette, and Tipton counties in Tennessee, Crittenden County in Arkansas, or Desoto County in Mississippi.
