Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation
Category: Environment
DescriptionThe foundation commits funds to help prevent damage to the natural systems upon which all life depends. Projects that strengthen individuals and institutions committed to protecting natural systems and ensuring a sustainable society are also of interest. Grants are made to programs in the interrelated areas of the environment and reproductive rights. Particular emphasis is placed on toxins and sustainable agriculture (both with an emphasis on Southern and Rocky Mountain states), and U.S. reproductive rights. A few grants are made in four areas of special concern: sustainable communities, U.S. environmental justice, strengthening the U.S. nonprofit sector, and environmental issues in metropolitan New York. Requests that address multiple priorities are encouraged. Letters of inquiry accepted at any time.
