Description

The Foundation concentrates its grantmaking within the state of Maryland with a primary focus on the Greater Baltimore area. Grants are awarded in the following areas: civic and culture, community and economic development, environment, education, health and human services, historic preservation. The Foundation favors one-time, project-oriented requests which have defined beginnings and endings. Applicants must have the financial stability to sustain the project for which funding is being sought. Many of the Foundation's grants support new construction or renovations of existing buildings. In capital grantmaking special attention is given to sustainable building practices and energy conservation measures incorporated into the project.
