Description

The Foundation was started by the former vice chairman of Dell Computers. It funds programs and organizations that connect people to the tools and resources they need to build self-sufficient and fulfilling lives. Grants are awarded in the following areas: child abuse prevention and treatment, youth enrichment, children's health, aging in place, and job training and support. Grants are limited to the communities in which the family resides: the greater Austin, Texas and the greater Chicago, Illinois metropolitan areas. In Illinois, preference is given to organizations serving DuPage and Cook counties although due to current and anticipated grantmaking portfolio, the Foundation has suspended accepting unsolicited applications for the Chicago metropolitan area for the foreseeable future. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
