Weyerhauser Giving Fund

Category

: Regional

Description

The Fund is the philanthropic arm of the wood products Company. The Fund is dedicated to enriching the quality of life in company communities and fostering the understanding of the importance of sustainable working forests. The Fund limits its giving to areas where it has a significant presence, including communities where it has operations and/or where it owns or manage forestlands in the United States and Canada. Grants are awarded in five focus areas: affordable housing and shelter; education and youth development; environmental stewardship; human services and civic and cultural growth; and workforce development. A small percentage of the Fund's grantmaking supports high-priority national initiatives directly related to the sustainability and importance of working forests and the products and services they provide. Applications in that category are accepted by invitation only. Additional information including an online grant application portal can be found on the Web site.
