Gloria Barron Prize For Young Heroes

DescriptionThe Prize is named for the mother of the children's author, T.A. Barron, who created a unique nature museum at the Colorado School for the Blind. The Prize celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds across North America. The Prize annually honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant, positive difference to people and the environment. The Prize does not discriminate against its applicants based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Applicants must be permanent residents of and currently residing in the United States or Canada. Winners each receive $10,000 to be applied to their higher education work or to their service project. Applications are accepted online only. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
