The Miccio Foundation

Description

The Foundation is named for the founder’s first cat and supports projects that address the well-being of animals in the State of Iowa. The Foundation’s primary focus is on companion animals. Funds can be used for, but are not limited to, projects such as humane education, start-up programs, medical care and equipment, spay/neuter programs, caging, and adoption support. Funded projects should have an immediate, direct and measurable effect on improving animal welfare in the target community. The Foundation offers Standard grants for licensed pounds or shelters; mini-grants for organizations with or without a pound or shelter licenses; and Jean M. Walker grants for individuals and organization raise public awareness to improve the humane treatment of animals. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
