Description

The Academy’s Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize recognizes the author of the most outstanding book of poetry published in the United States in the previous calendar year. Named for the poet, novelist, essayist, and political activist and co-founder of the National Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy, the Prize includes both a $25,000 grant and a 10-day residency at Glen Hollow in New York. Applicants must have been a citizen or resident of the United States for at least 10 years prior to the submission deadline or have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival status, temporary protected status, or legal permanent status or fall into a category designated by U.S. authorities that confers similar enhanced status.
