Description

The Foundation was established by Robert P. Thome in 2002 to honor the memory of his parents. The Foundation is committed to providing for the dignified treatment of older adults and supporting medical research on diseases and disorders affecting them. The Foundation awards grants those two areas. Grants for the dignified treatment of older adults support organizations in Maryland and Michigan that provide direct services addressing one or more of the following critical issues facing older adults: heath care, housing family services, neighborhood involvement, workforce opportunities, and aging with dignity at home. Grants for medical research rotate each year between age-related macular degeneration and Alzheimer’s disease research. Additional information and application instructions can be found on the Web site. The Foundation is administered by the Illinois office of Bank of America.
