Description

Founded by husband and wife artists Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, the Foundation seeks to aid, internationally, those individuals who have worked as artists over a significant period of time. The Foundation’s dual criteria for funding are recognizable artistic merit and financial need, whether professional, personal or both. Visual artists who are painters, sculptors, and artists who work on paper, including printmakers are eligible to apply. Applications are encouraged from artists who have a genuine financial need that are not necessarily catastrophic. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time and can be used by the applicant for all legitimate expenditure relating to his/her professional work and personal living. The Foundation does not accept applications from commercial artists, video artists, performance artists, filmmakers, crafts-makers, computer artists, or any artist whose work primarily falls into these categories. It does also not make grants to students or for academic study. Additional details including application instructions can be found on the Web site.
