U.s. Soccer Foundation
DescriptionThe Foundation awards grants for projects designed to keep children in underserved communities active, healthy, and safe. The Foundationís Safe Places to Play Program helps to ensure that children in underserved communities have easy and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development. Grants are awarded for irrigation, lighting, AstroTurf, and Sport Court projects. Applicants must be a nonprofit entity that owns or holds a ten-plus-year lease on the field space and has a plan to complete the project within a year of the potential grant award. The field space must be used for soccer, and 50 percent of the project funding must be in hand at the time of the application.
