Description

The Fund was established by the estate of its namesake of Little Falls, Minnesota to continue her personal philanthropy. The Fund awards grants in the following categories: Rural Initiative Program, Environmental Initiative Program, Intercultural Harmony, Rural Arts Program, and Little Falls, MN/Morrison County. In the Rural Initiative Program, the Fund seeks to encourage collaborative and participatory efforts among citizens in rural communities that will help strengthen their towns and regions in a number of civic areas including, but not limited to, economic development, business preservation, arts and humanities, public space improvements, and education. In the Environmental Initiative Program, the Fund assists public or nonprofit entities to initiate or implement projects that enhance the ecological integrity of publicly owned open spaces while encouraging compatible human activities. Intercultural Harmony grants seek to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between groups and citizens of different cultural backgrounds within defined geographical areas through collaborative, cross-cultural exchange projects. Rural Arts Program grants seeks to assist nonprofit arts organizations in rural communities to develop, implement, or sustain exceptional artistic opportunities for adults and children in the areas of literacy, visual, music, and performing arts. Grants in Little Falls, MN/Morrison County fall into two categories: the General Operating Support Program and the Small Grants Program. The Fund awards grants in Colorado, Hawaii, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Texas. Visit the Web site for details and deadlines on each of the programs. The date is for the Intercultural Harmony grants.
