Medica Foundation

DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the insurance Company. It provides funding for community-based initiatives and nonprofits that help build healthy communities. Grants are awarded in the following areas: behavioral health, early childhood health, and non-profit core mission. Non-profit core mission grants support programs and projects that are true innovations in how healthcare is delivered; have a high likelihood of creating sustainable, systemic change; address the social issues that drive health care costs and reduce health care disparities; and build partnerships and collaborations between the Company and other community organizations. Funding is provided to organizations within the Foundation service area of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and western Wisconsin. Minnesota applicants must be located outside the 7-county metro area, which includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties. Wisconsin funding is only offered in the following counties: Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Chippewa, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pierce, Polk, Sawyer, St. Croix, and Washburn.
