Description

The Foundation recognizes the power of the arts to inspire and bring people together. Since its inception, the Foundation’s Fund for Artists has partnered with more than 9,500 community donors in several California counties and more than 200 organizations to commission new works by some 300 local artists. The Foundation is seeking applications from artists and nonprofit organizations to support the creation of new works by Bay area composers, playwrights, choreographers, visual, and media artists. Grants of up to $8,000 will be matched by donor contributions on a 1-to-1 basis. Eligible organizations include nonprofit exhibition spaces, performance presenters, media, and arts organizations located in Alameda or Contra Costa counties in California. Commissions must be for a new work by a Bay area resident, funding must be allocated for lead artists’ fees only, and the work must be presented in the East Bay. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
