DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the original Dime Savings Bank of Norwich, Connecticut. The Foundation supports and gives back to the communities it serves in the New London County, Conn. or Westerly/Pawcatuck, Rhode Island areas. Funding priorities include affordable housing; basic human services for those considered most at-risk with an emphasis on children, families, and/or the elderly at low-income levels; cultural enrichment programs especially among disadvantaged populations; and development/education, job training, or promotion of literacy, especially preventative programs that encourage self-sufficiency.
