Alternatives Research And Development Foundation

Category: Education

The Foundationís mission is to fund and promote the development, validation, and adoption of non-animal methods in biomedical research, product testing, and education. The Foundationís Alternatives Research Grant Program funds significant research projects in three targeted areas: education, testing, and basic research. Priority is given to projects that have the potential to significantly replace or reduce laboratory animals and have scientific merit and feasibility. Funded programs should utilize pathway-based approaches as exemplified by the 2007 National Academy of Sciences report, Toxicity Testing in the Twenty-first Century: A Vision and a Strategy. Additional information including an online submission process can be found on the Web site.
