Description

The Foundation is committed to building community and improving people’s lives by supporting organizations and providing leadership that responds to challenges and creates positive change. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on religious, educational, health, arts and other nonprofits in the greater Birmingham, Ala., area. Successful applicants share these characteristics: strong staff and board leadership; a track record of sustainable operations and funding; a commitment to working in partnership with other nonprofits and government agencies; a broad base of financial support, and proven program effectiveness. In some cases, the Foundation will consider general operating support grants for programs that match the Foundation’s priority focus areas. Inquiries are accepted twice a year through the online system. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
