Description

The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on three ambitious and highly interconnected goals for building a more equitable Washington, D.C. region. Grants are awarded to programs and projects dealing with affordable housing, financial stability, and education and employment. Affordable housing grants seek to provide an adequate supply of housing that low-income individuals and families can afford so that individuals and families remain stably housed. Financial stability grants seek to ensure that individuals and families in the bottom quartile of income build assets and increase financial security. Education and employment grants seek to prepare youth and adults to obtain family-sustaining jobs and remain employed. The Foundation serves the people and communities of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region including the District of Columbia, Montgomery and Price George’s counties in Maryland; Arlington, Fairfax, and Prince William counties in Virginia; and the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park, Virginia. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
