Description

The Foundation supports students and teachers in connecting with outdoor environments through a variety of environmental literacy experiences. The Foundation is committed to offering a series of age-appropriate experiences that engage the senses and foster a responsibility toward the environment of Oregon and the region. The Foundation’s Environmental Education Program accepts applications for overnight, residential outdoor school programs for fifth- and/or sixth-grade students. One-year grants of up to $40,000 will be awarded to programs that provide students with an outdoor oriented educational, residential, experiential, interdisciplinary experience that engages the senses and employs recognized best practices. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations, schools, or governmental agencies that serve students in Oregon. Preference is given to programs for underserved communities, rural communities, and communities of color.
