DescriptionSupported by the Windgate Fund at the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, the Center’s Craft Research Fund program works to advance, expand, and support research about craft in the United States. The Fund supports innovative research on artistic and critical issues in craft theory and history, explores the inter-relationship among craft, art, design, and contemporary culture; fosters new cross-disciplinary approaches to scholarship in the craft field in the United States, and advances investigation of neglected questions in craft history and criticism in the U.S. The Center awards grants for exhibition research, graduate research, travel, and projects.
