The Philip L. Graham Foundation

The Foundation is named for the late publisher of The Washington Post. The Fundís mission is to use its money to better the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and to support activities that foster improvements in the fields of journalism and communication. Grants are awarded across five interest areas: arts & humanities, community endeavors, education, health & human services, and journalism & communications. Grantees include both large, regional organizations as well as small, community-based groups. The Foundation follows a two-step application process. Organizations must submit a letter of inquiry through the Foundationís online application system prior to one of three deadlines each year. Those that the Foundation is interested will be invited to fill out a proposal. Visit the Web site for the online application as well as the current deadlines.
