James Marston Fitch Charitable Foundation

Arts & Culture

The Foundation provides mid-year grants to professionals working in the fields of historic preservation, landscape architecture, urban design, environmental planning, decorative arts, architectural design, and architectural history. The Foundation will consider proposals for the research and/or the execution of the preservation-related projects in any of these fields. Professionals whose projects relate to the appreciation, interpretation, preservation, study and teaching of European art from antiquity to the early 19th century in the context of historic preservation in the United States will receive The Samuel H. Kress Mid-Career Fellowship. Projects will be evaluated based on various criteria including the potential for the project to make a meaningful contribution to the academic and/or professional field of historic preservation in the United States and the inventiveness and creativity of the planned project. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
