The Bay And Paul Foundations

Category

: General

Description

The Foundations focus their grantmaking on pre-collegiate education, conserving biodiversity, collections care and conservation, Native Americans and Indigenous peoples, and music. Education grants are directed to professional development with and emphasis on facilitative, distributive leadership and to the intentional interruption of inequitable policies, practices, and cultural norms. Emphasis is given to requests for math and science and arts-in-education projects. Conserving biodiversity grants are awarded to the Biodiversity Leadership Awards Program, which is currently on hiatus although the Foundations do make small grants for research and intervention efforts on behalf of endangered species in the U.S. and internationally. Collections care grants provides modest support for conservation and preservation projects to archives, museums, libraries, botanical gardens, and historic sites. Native American and Indigenous peoples grants intend to support projects “of” Native peoples. Historically, music grants have been made to chamber ensembles and orchestras in support of professional development, and infrequently, performances. Those have now been discontinued. Any grants to chamber ensembles are now subsumed under the arts-in-education grants, which for first-time grants are geographically restricted to the greater New York City metro area. Additional information including deadline dates for specific programs can be found on the Web site.
