The Louis Calder Foundation
Category: Education
DescriptionThe Foundation’s primary focus is on education reform. The Foundation supports academic programs throughout the country that offer families alternatives to underperforming schools. The Foundation believes that a quality education depends upon what is taught, how it is taught, and when it its taught and that alternative school models understand how all three requirements intersect in research and in practice. The Foundation uses four strategies to support its overall grantmaking program: charter and parochial schools, teacher and leadership development, public policy, and capital projects. The Foundation accepts letters of inquiry throughout the year. Visit the Web site for information on the grant application process and a letter of inquiry form.
